Bilingual & Bicultural Hmong Curriculum

We embrace the Hmong language and culture each day through play and stories. Children gain confidence in who they are while developing strong Hmong and English language skills.

Kindergarten Readiness

Our kindergarten readiness program helps children build the skills they need to feel confident and prepared for their next step. Through play-based learning, hands-on experiences, and daily routines, children develop independence, early literacy and math skills, and strong social relationships.

To support open communication, we use Brightwheel to share notes, learning moments, and reminders. Families enjoy real-time updates that help them feel close to their child’s experiences, even when they’re apart.

    Being in Ms. Xiong’s class honestly felt like being part of a second family. Since she had taught my older brother too, it was like I already had a connection with her before I even walked through the door. She made me feel welcome, safe, and understood in a way I didn’t realize I needed. What made her class so special was that she wasn’t just my teacher, she was someone who understood my background, my culture, and the little things about being Hmong. Having a teacher who shared my ethnicity meant a lot to me, because not only was I just learning school subjects, I was learning about myself and my culture. I still think about her after school Hmong classes and how much I learned from them, and the books she wrote to encourage us to stay close to our heritage. Even though I’m not in her class anymore, I still love to keep in touch with her. She’s someone who continues to inspire me, and I know she will always be an important and meaningful person in my life.

    Ms. Xiong was my teacher for two different years throughout elementary school, and I treasured both of them so much. I still remember small details of how being in her class made me so enthusiastic about going to school!     She did an amazing job of making sure every student felt safe and heard in the classroom and always kept things fun and interesting for us! I remember doing labs with worms and having feasts with my class, I still have pictures of all these precious memories! I even have friends who also used to be in her class and reminisce about how much they loved it. It’s evident she had a lasting impact on her students.  I remember her showing us books she wrote herself, and now she’s making her own preschool! It’s amazing to see the progress she’s made as an educator. Being a teacher is not just about teaching, it involves building connections, fostering emotional development and inspiring curiosity in your students. I can confidently say that Ms. Xiong has checked all the boxes.  I still keep in touch with her today and her impact on me has never faded away.
